I wanted to tell you a little bit about me and how I became so passionate about neonatal bedside brain monitoring, or aEEG.
As a new grad RN in the NICU I found myself always interested in the babies with neurological issues, IVH, HIE, seizures, you name it. So when I was introduced to neonatal aEEG in 2004, I was hooked even before I could figure out how to apply the sensors.
I especially appreciated that aEEG was a tool for the bedside and could be used by us, the NICU team, whenever we needed it. I knew that aEEG could drastically change the way we cared for babies in the NICU.
In 2005, after using the monitor in my clinical practice for a little more than a year, and seeing first hand its benefits from day to day, I accepted the role of Clinical Education Coordinator for a new aEEG device manufacturer. Over the following 4 years, I worked with countless NICU teams, just like yours, with one goal in mind…”Give NICU clinicians the tools needed to integrate aEEG monitoring into daily NICU practice.”
It is with this same passion, that I created “Your aEEG Coach”.
So please, let me know how I can help you jump-start your aEEG program. I will make the process simple, and hopefully fun! But, most importantly, I want to be sure that the next time you use your aEEG monitor, or need to interpret a tracing, you will have a no-stress system to rely on.
Happy aEEG-ing and hope to hear from you soon!
